Tell Congressman Neal: Pass the Postal Service Reform Act Now!
Target: Congressman Richard Neal
In 2006, Congress passed an unfair mandate, requiring the Postal Service to pre-fund retiree health benefits 75 years in advance, making it appear as though the Post Office runs at an enormous loss every year.
The pre-funding mandate is the single biggest obstacle to ensuring the Postal Service remains financially healthy and protected for generations to come - but here’s the good news.
A new bill, The Postal Service Reform Act (H.R. 3076), would repeal the pre-funding mandate and enact critical reforms, like protecting six-day delivery, adding cost-saving Medicare integration for future postal retirees, and increasing transparency in Postal Service management.
Right now, the bill is awaiting action by a committee chaired by Congressman Richard Neal.
Tell Congressman Neal: You support the Postal Service Reform Act, and want him to move it out of his committee and onto the House floor to be passed, now!
