We have taken a big step forward in our campaign to fill the USPS Board of Governors with pro-Postal, pro-worker nominees!
The White House issued a statement that read: "President Biden's focus is on filling these vacancies, nominating officials who reflect his commitment to the workers of the US Postal Service -- who can deliver on the post office's vital universal service obligation."
Your work, and the work of APWU members across the country, has gotten the attention of the White House. Let's keep building the pressure. Will you share the petition with your friends and co-workers?
Every time we take a step forward, it is because of the organizing you and thousands of other APWU members have done together. This is how we win.
This is a strong statement from the President, but we must keep pushing until we get the change we are looking for.
Let's be clear - the past 12 months have been some of the hardest ever for us all, but the problems we face as postal workers didn't only come about in the past 12 months. After nearly 20 years of under-investment, short staffing and congressional strangulation of Postal finances, we need change.
We need to set the agenda from the very top on down to make that change happen. We need a pro-union, pro-Postal Board of Governors. Please share the petition as wide as you can.
